Master frequency/encoder input X8 of the ECS servo system with high resolution when the sin/cos encoder is selected as master encoder

Question:
Is the high-resolution function of the encoder input X8 also active if the input is used as master frequency input?

Answer:
Yes, the high-resolution function for the additional evaluation of the amplitudes with sin/cos signals is also active if X8 is configured as master frequency input.
Similar to the use of the encoder input for the speed/position feedback by means of the sin/cos encoder the input X8 permits the interpolation via the sine/cosine signals of the sin/cos encoder. As a result, the master value has a correspondingly high resolution.

Compared to the 9300 servo controller:
In addition to the encoder input the 9300 servo controller is equipped with a separate master frequency input, whose limit frequency is higher, too, but in case of the 9300 device the high-resolution function is only provided at the feedback input X8 in order to utilise the additional information of the sin/cos encoder. In case of the sin/cos encoder master frequency input X9 of the 9300 controller only counts the periods/zero crossing signals of the sin/cos signals (corresponds to the edge evaluation function of the TTL encoder).
