Zero pulse of the motor encoder is evaluated only when C0540 = 2

Question:
Which settings do the ECS axis modules require, so that the zero pulse of the motor encoder can be evalueated correctly?

Answer:
System-dependent in all ECS versions the zero pulse of the motor encoder (or the zero position of the resolver) can only be detected, when for the master frequency output (DFOUT) the function 'Encoder simulation' is set, just as in the factory default setting:
  • Code 'X8 Signal out' C0540 = -2- (EncSim -> DFOUT).

In case of setting C0540 = -0- or C0540 = -1-  with the evaluation of the zero pulse the homing modes (as available in the ECS versions Posi&Shaft, Motion and Application) cannot operate.

The setting C0540 = -2-  is also required for the usage of the zero pulse or the zero position of the motor encoder as a master pulse for latching the actual position (LastScan-value) in the programmable application version.

This is independent from the fact, if in code C0491 'X8 in/out' X8 is configured as output or input.
