Question:
What aspects have to be considered for the world-wide use of the EMF2181 ModemCAN?
Answer:
Basically, the modem can always be used in default setting mode. However, it must be observed in which country the modem (or system) is sent. The modem supports the CTR21 and FCC Port 68 standards.
Within Europe the county code is the same and matches with the default setting. In case of all other countries it may be necessary to adapt the country code under code L-C1208, e. g. for the USA. A list mentioning all the countries supported can be found in the appendix of the 2181 ModemCAN communication module in the 'Remote Maintenance' Communication Manual.
If the country in which the modem is to be used cannot be found in this list the ModemCAN is only allowed to be used with an external analog modem that complies with the related national regulations.
