Controller enabling, current injection delayed to the ECS
Question:
Why is the current injected to the motor only after a period of approx. 10 ms after the ECS axis module has been enabled?
Answer:
The ECS axis modules have no direct voltage supply for the upper drive stage in the power stage. The supply voltage is ensured by backup capacitors. Therefore, after controller enabling (controller enabling X6/SI1 = High and deblocking X6/SI2 = High) first the lower IGBTs must be triggered for a period of approx. 10 ms in order to load the capacitors. After this, safe operation is possible.
