Modification of the font height in the function block editor of GDC

Question:
How can the font height in the FB editor of GDC be reduced, so that even bigger function blocks are displayed completely?

Answer:
Often the function height in the GDC function block editor is selected in a way that complex function blocks cannot be displayed completely in the FB editor window. The user has two possibilities to modify the preselected font height.

In older GDC versions (<4.6.1) it is possible to modify the setting regarding the font height in the file GDC 32.INI. Follow these steps:

1. In the Windows explorer call the directory BIN, where the GDC program file is stored (e. g. C:\Programs\Lenze\GDC_4_40\BIN).
2. Open the file GDC32.INI with the Windows editor that can be called by Start => Programs => Accessories => Editor.
3. In function Edit => Search search for character sequence [FBE].
4. In one of the following lines the font height for the function block editor (FBE) is fixed by the entry FontHeight=???. In the default setting a font height of 120 is selected (shown by the wildcard ???).
5. Modify the font height (e. g. FontHeight=80).
6. Store the file GDC32.INI in the Windows editor in File => Store and close the Windows editor.
7. In order to copy the modified font height to the GDC function block editor exit the function block editor in the GDC and restart.
From GDC software version 4.6.1 it is possible to modify font and font height directly in the GDC program.

1. Start the function block editor by selecting the button FB editor or Tool => FB editor in the menu bar.
2. Then the menu bar is extended by the entry FB editor. By means of the new menu item FB editor => Fonts the required modification can be executed.
3. The new settings will be executed after repeated opening of the function block editor.
