CAN address assignment of EMF 2181 and EMF 2180

Question:

How do the modules EMF2180 EthernetCAN and EMF2181 ModemCAN behave in case of double CAN bus address assignment?

Answer:

The default CAN address of the modules is 62.
  • If the modules are operated in a CAN network, where the address 62 is not assigned, the modules operate with address 62.
  • If the modules are operated in a CAN network, where the address 62 is assigned already, the modules automatically search the next free address.
