Which products are affected?
ESP-DDS2-x (Global Drive PLC Developer Studio V2.x)
What happens?
If there are several coils connected in parallel in a network, the connection between the top coil and the others connected in parallel is not displayed as a T connection, but as a cross junction. Therefore an open connection in the network is displayed.
When does the problem occur?
The behaviour described above occurs if a network displayed in the ladder diagram editor has several coils, if the switch Comments per contact has been activated in the dialog FBD and LD Options (menu item Extras>Options) and if the number of Lines for variable text in this dialog is higher than 1.
With the help of the switch Comments per contact, you can enter a separate comment for each contact used in a network, in addition to the network comment. In the DDS standard settings, the switch is deactivated, i. e. you can only enter network comments.
Possible diagnostics?
None.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
Deactivate the switch Comments per contact in the dialog FBD and LD Options (menu item Extras>Options).
Evaluation:
In this function restriction, coils connected in parallel are not correctly displayed in the ladder diagram editor. This function restriction only affects the graphical display of the logic and does not have any influence on its correct execution. In the DDS standard settings, the switch Comments per contact is deactivated. Therefore the function restriction only rarely occurs.
