Which products are affected?
ESP-DDS2-x (Global Drive PLC Developer Studio V2.2)
What happens?
DDS does not respond any more after logging off (separating the connection between DDS and the PLC target system). The DDS user interface is no longer updated. Some parts of the DDS user interface are displayed in white, e. g. the menu bar.
When does the problem occur?
The behaviour described above may occur when logging off.
Possible diagnostics?
Verify with the help of the Windows start bar if the
CoDeSys Gateway Server is still active, although logging off has taken place. The
CoDeSys Gateway Server is displayed next to the Windows clock via a symbol ressembling a traffic light.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
Close the
CoDeSys Gateway Server using one of the following methods:
- Close the CoDeSys Gateway Server using the Windows start bar. In order to close the CoDeSys Gateway Server, use the left mouse button to click on the symbol described in Possible diagnostics. The context menu of the CoDeSys Gateway Server appears. Then click on Exit in the context menu.
- Close the CoDeSys Gateway Server using the Windows task manager. In order to open the task manager, use the keys <Strg> + <Alt> + <Del> simultaneously. Then click on the button <Task Manager> in the dialogue displayed. Open the register card Processes in the Windows task manager. Tick the process Gateway.exe. Click on the button <End process>.
DDS responds normally after the
CoDeSys Gateway Server has been deactivated.
This function restriction will be eliminated in the next DDS update.
Evaluation:
DDS does not react any more after logging off. The function restriction can be eliminated by closing the
CoDeSys Gateway Server manually (see short-term measures). This function restriction only rarely occurs.
