Question:
Why can by means of the Lenze OPC S7 configurator's search function more drives be found than really connected via PROFIBUS to the S7-control?
Answer:
If drive controllers are to be activated by the OPC Drive Server and OPC S7 Server via PROFIBUS, in the S7 control a Lenze function block (FB90) is to be called. For each drive the FB90 must be called once. For each function block call in the S7 control there is one instance data block.
If you search for drives with the S7 configurator, it will search in the S7 control for the existing instance data blocks of the FB90.
Example:
In the project planning phase of the PLC programm FB90 was called more often than really existing Lenze profi bus participants were connected. Consequently there will be more instance data blocks than profi bus participants. If the not required instance data blocks are not deleted by the user, the Lenze S7 configurator will find more than the existing number of drive controllers.
