Answer:
New notebooks often have a parallel-interface (LPT1 Port), but no PS/2-connection anymore. This makes power supply of the EMF2173IB CAN systembus adapter V002/V003 impossible.

As an alternative to a USB EMF2177IB systembus adapter a USB-PS/2 adapter cable between PC (USB-connection) and EMF 2173IB systembus adapter (PS/2-power supply connection) can be switched. This ensures the operation of the systembus adapter.

Such an adapter cable can be bought from specialised dealers and costs approx. 3-4 EUR.
