Brake is not applied after profile end

Question:
How can be ensured for the ECS positioning controller (Posi&Shaft) that after a positioning profile the drive remains in positioning control and that the holding brake continues to be cooled?

Answer:
The brake is controlled according to the shown timing diagram. After profile end the holding brake is normally activated via the brake logic.

If, e. g. in case of linear axes, the brake is continued to be cooled after profile end, this can be realized by the control bit 'ProfEnable' in the control word 1 ('Ctrl1'). If after profile end 'ProfEnable' = 1 is activated, the drive will remain in positioning control at the reached target position and the holding brake will not be applied.

Please consider:
With 'ProfEnable' = 1 the positioning is immediately restarted when a new profile number is determined.
Due to the bit-coded preselction of the profile number by the control word the simultaneous  transfer of the bit combinations (e. g. profile number 3 = bit 1 and bit 2) to the ECS positioning controller is to be ensured. In case of control via a bussystem this is easily ensured. The preselection of the profile number via input terminals is not practicable without control of 'ProfEnable'.
