SM301 safety module, connection of sensors and switches

Question:
Which sensors and switches can be connected to the inputs and outputs of the SM301?

Answer:
The SM301 safety module of the 9400 series has four two-channel (safe) inputs:
  • Up to four active sensors (light curtain, laser scanner, …) or passive sensors (emergency stop button, door contact, …) can directly be connected.
  • One switch for selecting the operating mode can be connected instead of a sensor.
  • One enable switch can be connected instead of a sensor.

The module has two more inputs (single-channel), one for error reset and one for restart.

Moreover, the SM301 has one two-channel (safe) output which can be assigned with any configuration.
Information can safely be transferred to other drive controllers or higher-level safe controls via the output.

The SM301 can be connected to the safety bus via the standard bus module.
