What happens?
If the online help is tried to be opened via the key <
F1> or via the menu item
?>Contents in the HMI Designer, an error message will occur with the information that the file C:\Programs\Lenze\HMI Designer\help\vtwin44.hlp has not been found. A new installation of the HMI Designer is recommended.
When does the problem occur?
When installing the full version of the HMI Designer the online help is only installed for one language (dependent on the language selected during installation). If in the HMI Designer the language is changed via the menu item
Options>Language, the online help for the second language cannot be opened.
When the HMI Designer is updated the online help is always installed for both languages.
Possible diagnostics?
The help files of the HMI Designer are installed in the subdirectory \help of the HMI Designer's subdirectory (usually C:\Programs\Lenze\HMI Designer\). If the names of the help files contain...
- ...the figure 49 (e. g. vtwin49.hlp), these are the files of the German online help.
- …the figure 44 (e. g. vtwin44.hlp), these are the files of the English online help.
If the above-mentioned directory only contains the files of the online help for one language, the second language has not been installed.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
If available, please install an update of the HMI Designer. All available updates of the HMI Designer can be found in the download area of the Application Knowledge Base on the Lenze Homepage (directory: Software/HMI Designer).
Service Pack 1 of the HMI Designer Version 1.6 does not contain any online help files.
This function restriction has been eliminated with
Service Pack 2 of the HMI Designer V1.6.
Evaluation:
Usually, the HMI Designer is installed in the language, in which the HMI Designer is used. For this language the online help is available. The corresponding online help will be available for both languages at the latest when updating the HMI Designer.
