Question:
Are the define fonts used in the HMI project part of the project?
Answer:
Yes, the define fonts used in the projects are part of the project. This applies to the font type HMI Designer (native font, e. g. created by means of the font editor) and also for the font type based on Windows (e. g. True Type Fonts).
When a HMI project is opened on a PC to which some of the fonts applied to the project are not installed, these fonts will be installed to the installation directory of the HMI Designer with opening of the project editor. After installation these fonts can also be used in other HMI projects.
Exception:
The only exception are Windows fonts, which are marked in the selection dialogue Create Windows-Font (menu Configuration>Project languages and fonts) by (*). These fonts cannot be installed to another PC afterwards. This means, if a project is opened on a PC, which does not contain this font, this font cannot be installed by the HMI Designer. Therefore, the HMI Designer substitutes the original font by another one. Pages/fields and their format can change.
Recommendation: Do not import Windows-fonts in a HMI project, which are marked by (*) by the HMI Designer.
