Input assistant in LD does not work for long variable identifiers

Which products are affected?
ESP-DDS2-P (Global Drive PLC Developer Studio Version 2.0, 2.1)

What happens?
In the editor for Ladder Diagram (LD) a variable cannot be accepted in the program logic via the Input Assistant (DDS menu Edit>Input Assistant).

When does the problem occur?
In the Ladder Diagram editor each contact and each coil can, in addition to the network comment, be provided with its own comment. This can be set via the menu Extras>Options with activation of the switch Comments per Contact.

If this option is activated, the size of the contact/coil no longer adapts to the length of the variable identifier. That is, the length of the variable identifier is limited by the width of the contact/coil. If a variable with a longer identifier is selected in the Input Assistant dialog, it will not be accepted in the program logic.

A change in the width of the contact/coil is not possible.

Possible diagnostics?
If the switch Comments per Contact is activated, the variable identifiers are highlighted in grey in the Ladder Diagram editor.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
In the dialog Function Block and Ladder Diagram Options (menu Extras>Options) increase the number of Lines for variable text.

Evaluation:
This function restriction only affects the Ladder Diagram editor, which tends to be used rarely. In most cases use of the network comment is sufficient for documentation of the DDS project. For this reason the switch Comments per Contact is not activated in most cases.
