Use of the function 'Release limit switch' for external manual speed

Which products are affected?

ESP-SPAC-CAM1 V1.0 and ESP-SPAC-CAM1 V1.1

How is the reaction?

When the function 'Release limit switch' together with external manual speed  (g_nExternalJog_v) the following function restriction occurs:

1. The drive moves with the speed g_nExternalJog_v set in positive or negative direction. If the positive/negative limit switch is recognized, the drive stops, quick stop (QSP) and an error are set.
2. With g_bReleaseLimitSwitch = TRUE and subsequent error reset the drive does not release the limit switch but still attempts to follow the external setpoint g_nExternalJog_v. If the limit switch signal is still applied, the error message is output again.
When does the problem occur?

If a limit switch was approached with external manual speed and the function 'Release limit switch' (g_bReleaseLimitSwitch) is to be used.

Possible diagnostics?

Despite the function 'Release limit switch' (g_bReleaseLimitSwitch = TRUE) the error message PosLimitSwitch or NegLimitSwitch occurs again immediately.

Short-term measures/recommendations?

Use the function 'Relase limit switch' only if an external manual setppoint is not used. Before limit switches are to be released, the external manual setpoint must always be switched off (g_bExternalJogEnable = FALSE). Only then can the limit switch be released automatically via g_bReleaseLimitSwitch = TRUE and error reset.

Evaluation:

When an external setpoint is used for manual jogging, the limit switches are evaluated correctly but the function 'Release limit switch' can only be used if the external setpoint is switched off.
