Switch digital outputs via external 24 V

Question:

Can the outputs of the digital input/output module of the I/O system IP20 be disconnected via the external 24 V supply?

Answer:

No, if the channels of the digital input/output module (DIO) are used as inputs and outputs at the same time. If pin 1 of the module is not supplied with external 24V, the outputs are supplied via active inputs which are connected to the digital input/output module.

The following modules are affected:
  • EPM-T230 (modular digital input/output module)
  • EPM-T830 (8-channel compact module)
  • EPM-T831 (16-channel compact module)
  • EPM-T833 (16-channel compact module)
