Which products are affected?
EVS93xx-EI (Servo PLC, software versions 1.0 to 2.5)
EVS93xx-ET (Servo PLC, technology variant, software version 1.0 to 2.5)
What happens?
After a rotor position adjustment the drive can:
- accelerate uncontrollably in any direction of rotation until the speed limit (C0596) is reached
- accept impermissible high currents in one direction of rotation when being loaded or
- respond in one direction of rotation with torque loss and oscillations.
When does the problem occur?
The rotor postion has been determined incorrectly when carrying out a rotor position adjustment. The error can only occur when using:
- third-party synchronous motors if the rotor position has been adjusted or
- if either the motor or the encoder have been replaced (not the complete system)
The rotor position adjustment is not required if:
- Lenze servo synchronous motors are used since these devices have already been adjusted in the Lenze production facilities.
- a controller has been replaced and the project or codes (C0058) are copied by using GDC or a keypad.
Possible diagnostics?
None.
Short-term measures/recommendations?
When using the Servo PLC version 2.6 or version 6.4 the rotor position adjustment can be carried out without any problems and should therefore be used.
If in case of older operating system versions there are any doubts that the rotor position adjustment has not been carried out correctly, please contact the ACP department immediately. They will investigate how the rotor position adjustment can be checked and corrected if necessary.
Evaluation:
In case of the Lenze system package a rotor position adjustment is not required. Therefore, this error is not relevant. However, if a rotor postion adjustement is carried out the drive can always respond as described above.
