Driver conflict between ABB programming software and GDC 4.x
Description:
If the parameterising software GDC and the programming software AC1131_V4.2 from ABB are used together, a driver conflict may result on the computer. Both programs can establish a communication to their components via an RS232 connection (GDC 'Lecom A/B').
Malfunction: Only the software which was installed last works.
Reason: Both programs use RS-232 Windows drivers. When the software packages are installed, these drivers are linked with the corresponding software in the Windows operating system.
ABB knows this problem and provides an update for the gateway of the ABB tool on the homepage www.abb.com.
