TP signal at E4 is sporadically not identified

Which products are affected?

EVS93xx-EI (Servo PLC Version 2.3)
EVS93xx-ET (Servo PLC Version 2.3)

What happens?

The touch probe signal at the digital input E4 is sporadically not identified.

When does the problem occur?

If the EMC conditions are not favourable and if a feedback system other than the resolver is used the drive does not identify the input E4 although the controller indicates a 'HIGH' signal at the digital input E4.

Possible diagnostics?

The error can be detected by the following circuit if the signal at E4 is longer than 1 ms and the program for detecting errors is processed once per 1 ms.

Short-term measures/recommendations?

In order to decrease the failure rate it is useful to optimise the screening of the drive system (e.g. additional screen connection of the control cables). If the error has occurred the complete voltage supply (mains and 24 VDC) must be switched off. After restarting the device the detection will work again.

Evaluation:

The error only occurs when using the touch probe input E4 in combination with a feedback system other than the resolver. Due to the diagnostics described the error can be detected and a corresponding response is possible.
