Wrong initial value after parameter set transfer

Which products are affected?

Global Drive Loader Version 1.0, 1.2

What happens?

After the download of a parameter set file (gdc file) the value 0 occurs under a code instead of the default setting. An error occurs when transferring parameters or the transfer is aborted.

When does the problem occur?

The version of the device description file (pdb file) which has been used to create the parameter set file (gdc file) is older than the one which has been manually selected by the user via the Global Drive Loader. Moreover, there are more codes included in the more recent device description file.
If the parameter set file with the more recent device description file is loaded into the controller the codes which are not included in the parameter set file will be initialised with 0 instead of the default value.
If the value 0 is not approved for this code a transfer error will occur which may lead to the abort of the parameter set transfer.

Possible diagnostics

None.

Short-term measures/recommendations?

This function restriction has been eliminated with version 2.0 of the Global Drive Loader.

Evaluation:

This restriction will only occur if the user selects a device description file manually. Usually the Global Drive Loader always loads automatically the device description file which matches the parameter set file. A manual selection is only possible if the Global Drive Loader does not find the appropriate device description file.
