Status of the profile generator on jerk reduction

Which products are affected?

ESP-SP-POS - Software Package Positioner V3.1

What happens?

During the phase of linear increase in the acceleration setpoint with a jerk reduced profile (S-ramp) the status is output incorrectly at the profile generator (g_nPosProfilerState). The status continuously changes between acceleration and deceleration.

When does the problem occur?

On jerk reduced profiles the drive is accelerated to the profile velocity using a linear ramp. During this acceleration phase, the status of the profile generator toggles between the acceleration and deceleration states. Similarly, the status during the deceleration in the profile is also output incorrectly.

Possible diagnostics?

The status of the profile generator (g_nPosProfilerState) and, e.g., the velocity profile can be plotted on an oscilloscope using the GDO. During the processing of the velocity profile, the state of the profile generator can be seen to toggle between acceleration and deceleration.

Short-term measures/recommendations?

None.

Evaluation:

In this case the status of the profile generator cannot be used as a condition for further control processes.
