Applications
During relative positioning in which the current position target is always based on the previous position target, if the fractions were not included in the calculation, rounding errors would be propagated from feed to feed.
Function description
Unless special precautions are taken during the design of the mechanics, the distance to be covered for a specified position target can produce a fractional number of increments (e.g. 1554.4 inc.). The internal calculation takes into account, along with the whole number portion of the value (= 1554 inc.), also the fraction (= 0.4).
The current positioning is performed using the integer, rounded position target and the fraction is taken into account in the next target calculation.
