Mains supply conditions, voltage levels, automatic mains detection, ECS supply module

Question:
How does the automatic mains detection of the ECS supply module work?

Answer:
In the default setting the automatic mains detection is set with code digit C0173 = 4. If 24V supply and mains voltage are det, the mains detection is activated with a HIGH level applied to DIGIN1 (mains release). Then the supply unit detects the amplitude of the mains voltage and the symmetry of the mains. If these values are within the permissible limits, the threshold values are adjusted automatically. If not, an LP1-TRIP is generated.

The automatic mains detection has two mains voltage ranges for rated mains voltages of 230V and 400V. In the field of 180...265 V a mains of 3 x 230 V is detected, and in the field of 266...528 V a mains of 3 x 400/480 V is detected. The limits for LV (Low Voltage) and OV (Over Voltage) belonging to them, as well as the switching on and switching off thresholds for the brake resistor / brake chopper are correspondingly set.

The switching thresholds set after automatic mains detection can be taken from the following table.
