Communication error while logging in the Servo PLC

Question:

When trying to log in the Servo PLC via the Drive Developer Studio, the procedure is cancelled with the message 'communication error'. The system bus check shows no fault and also via GDC-Light an online connection is established. What is the reason?

Answer:

There are several possible reasons:

1. You work with the wrong communication parameters

Open the menu 'Online' and 'Communication parameter' and check the settings for:
  • Parameter-Channel...default = 1
  • Baudrate:................default = 500 kB (code digit C0351 = 0)
  • Node-Address........default = 1 (code digit C0350 = 1)
  • Interrupt................default = 7
  • Port-Address........default = 16#0378

and confirm with 'OK'

2. You have further drive controllers or keypads (HMI) in the CAN connection

Please make sure that the drive controller has a node address and that there is no address conflict in the parameter-channel field (especially in connection with visualisations).

3. You try to establish the communication by the help of a CAN interface module (e.g. EMF2171IB)

A PLC program can only be loaded via the system bus interface located in the device. This is also to be considered for the Servo PLC and for the Drive PLC.
