Interbus with optical fibre

Question:

Can Lenze Interbus communication modules (AIF, FIF) be connected with an Interbus, which communicates via optical fibres?

Answer:

Yes, there is a possibility.

The Interbus communication modules can only be connected via SUB-D plugs (copper cable). PHOENIX Company offers a device transforming from SUB-D to optical fibres.

  • OPTOSUB-PLUS  This interface converter is directly plugged on the SUB-D plug of the Interbus module. The converter requires the power supply from the Interbus slave. This cannot be guaranteed by our Interbus communication modules.
  • PSM-EG-RS-422/xxx  This mounting rail interface converter is operated by an external 24 Volt power supply.

These converters exist for glass fibre and polymer fibre.
