Operating frequency reduction during DC injection braking

Which products are involved?

Frequency inverter 8200vector

What is the reaction?

DC braking takes place by injection either of a DC voltage or a DC current. When braking with DC current and exceeding a current threshold the chopper frequency is reduced to 2 kHz in order to provide the inverter with thermal protection.

a) In software version V1.3 this threshold is 12 % of rated current.

b) In SW V1.4 the following thresholds are evaluated depending on the chopper frequency set under C0018:

Chopper frequency:..............................4 kHz.....8 kHz....16 kHz
Rated current threshold
at which there is a reduction to 2 kHz:...100.%......70 %.....12 %

When does the problem occur?

When braking a motor without brake chopper and without magnetic noise in the motor.

Possible diagnoses?

None
