Triggering a further process by changing a code

Question:

How, when changing a code, is it possible to trigger a further process (e.g. calculate different codes)?

Answer:

The possibility of performing such processes can be achieved with a scaling routine. A scaling routine is a IEC1131 program written by the user for scaling these parameters/variables.

Create scaling routine

1. On the Blocks tab in the Object Organizer select the function block to which you wish to add a scaling routine.
2. Select Add project scaling routine in order to open the dialog Add scaling routine.
3. In the Add scaling routine dialog select the programming language and the appropriate variable. The name of the scaling routine is granted automatically ('SCAL_' + name of variable).
4. Press the Add button in order to add the scaling routine or Close in order to cancel the process and close the dialog.
In the Object Organizer the scaling routine is attached below the appropriate FBs. Double-click to open the scaling routine in the editor, where you can then perform the relevant programming.
