HTL encoder: Evaluation as for 8400TL inverter (from V01.09.01)
Functional extension:
Evaluation of HTL encoder signals
Prerequisites:
i950 with extended I/O module (type I9MAGC000000S) in Slot A
The digital inputs of the I/O module are switchable.
The HTL encoder can be evaluated in two tracks via two digital inputs or in four tracks via four digital inputs.
The cut-off frequency for HTL encoder signals is 200 kHz.
Settings for HTL encoders (valid for all selections in 0x4000):
0x2630:003: HTL function (2/4 track) = 0: "DI5, DI6, DI7, DI8" --> inputs function as normal digital inputs. = 1: "HTL 4 signals" --> Inputs wired with 4 HTL signals: DI5 = A DI6 = B DI7 = NOT A DI8 = NOT B = 2: "HTL 2 signals + DI 7/8" --> Inputs wired with 2 HTL signals DI5 = A DI6 = B DI7 and DI8 are normal digital inputs.
0x2C42:010: HTL evaluation method for slot A / motor feedback
0x2C52:010: HTL evaluation method for slot B / applications feedback = 1: high res. enc. --> standard 4-fold evaluation (rising and falling edges) = 4: low res. enc. --> only rising edges track A, direction track B. = 5: count in / A pos. + B neg. --> like 9400, A track counts positive, B track negative = 6: Count in + Pulse direction --> like 9400, A track counts positive, B track direction of rotation
0x2C42:001: HTL dash number for Slot A / Motor-feedback
0x2C52:001: HTL dash number for slot B / applications-feedback
Wire break detection: When using 4 signals (0x2630:3 = 1), the wire break is achieved by comparing A and NOT A and B and NOT B (0x2831 bit 13). If 2 signals are used, no wire breakage can be detected in the lower speed range. In the upper speed range, the same procedure is used as for TTL signals.
Error messages for wire breakage: 0x20097303, 0x20097304
Included in which products? Servo Inverter i950 FW: from V01.09.01
Application:
The function is used in all applications in which motors are operated with HTL encoders or HTL signals from the machine application must be evaluated in the i950.
