Function description
For the card module, the Secure Digital memory card (SD memory card) with a storage capacity of up to and including 2GB can be used as a storage medium in addition to the SmartMedia memory card.
Applications
The discontinuation of the SmartMedia memory card caused procurement problems for some customers. For compatibility reasons, the new card module still supports the SmartMedia card. This means that the SmartMedia memory cards used in conjunction with the previous version of the card module (hardware version 1A or 1B) can still be used with the new card module.
The scope of supply of the new card module now includes an SD memory card. Generally, SD memory cards from all manufacturers can be used. Lenze recommends memory cards from the SanDisk company.
