EPM-H315 (Text display)
EPM-H410 (Graphical display unit)

What happens?
In combination with keypads this function restriction may result in the following responses:
After the change of page or sequence change…
  • … the keypad is booted.
  • … the screen of the keypad is black.
  • … the keypad does not respond if entries are made or keys are pressed.

When does the problem occur?
If a numerical field (field -> number) is indicated on a page by one visible figure only and in the FloatingPoint numerical format the response described before may occur.

The H310 keypad is not affected by this function restriction.

Possible diagnostics?
None.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
Ensure that variables which are to be indicated in the FloatingPoint numerical format consist of three visible figures at least.
If a variable is to be indicated by one visible figure only select 'Integer' as numerical format.

Evaluation:
If a variable is to be indicated on a page by one visible figure and in the FloatingPoint numerical format it is no longer possible to use the keypad when opening the page. This function restriction is detected during commissioning at the latest. In practice a FloatingPoint variable is usually indicated by one visible figure only.
