Retracting from limit switches

Which products are affected?
ESP-SPAC-CAM1 – Software Package Cam V1.1 (template cam)

What happens?
For retracting from a limit switch position, automatic retracting from the limit switch area can be activated by setting the template variable g_bReleaseLimitSwitch = TRUE. Sporadically, the drive traverses into the limit switch area for a short time before reversing and retracting from the limit switch.

When does the problem occur?
The problem can occur if the drive has reached a limit switch and the retracting from limit switch function (g_bReleaseLimitSwitch = TRUE) shall be used to retract from the limit switch.

Possible diagnostics?
If the drive is several times traversed to a limit switch position and the 'retracting from limit switch' function is activated the fault can be reproduced.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
The retracting function of template cam must not be used. If required, the function must be programmed by the user himself.

Evaluation
Since it is quite likely that the fault occurs, it is already detected in the commissioning phase. If possible, the retracting function (template variable g_bReleaseLimitSwitch) should not be used when creating a project. If the 'retracting from limit switch' function is absolutely necessary it must be programmed by the user himself.
