Selection of virtual and external master speed

Which products are affected?
ESP-SPAC-CAM1 – Software Package Cam V1.1 (template cam)

What happens?
It is not possible to select the external and the virtual master speed separately for template cam because for both functions template variable g_nVertShaftVelocitySet_v is used to define the master speed.

When does the problem occur?
The problem occurs if template cam is used and the user wants to change between virtual master and external master speed selection. In this case, a user program section must be used to select the setpoint source in accordance with operating mode 'Virtual master' or 'External master speed'.

Possible diagnostics?
If a value other than zero is assigned as virtual master speed to the template variable g_nVertShaftVelocitySet_v and the user changes to external master speed the Servo PLC detects an external master speed although there has no external master speed been assigned in the PLC program.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
Depending on the preselected operating mode 'Virtual master' or 'External master speed', a user program section must be used to change between virtual and external master value source.

Evaluation
The function restriction can be avoided by using a user program section. In practical template operation it occurs only sporadically because the master value source is usually unambiguous and need not be changed.
