In case of long motor cables and a bad shield connection of the motor cable on the controller side the encoder signals can be interfered.
The evaluation of sine/cosine encoders as feedback system is especially sensitive.
Interferences caused by the unfavourable conditions described before can be suppressed if the filter is mounted as an independent module directly on the encoder input X8 and connected to the encoder cable.
The filter is not required if the drive is wired properly according to the Operating Instructions.
Function description
Due to interferences on the encoder signals error messages SD8 may be activated by the encoder monitoring of the drive.
The filter improves the common-mode rejection.
The design of the filters has been optimised for the absolute value encoders of the Stegmann company.
The limit frequency of the filter is 68 kHz.
