Simulating the REF-OK signal (9300Ex) on the 9400 HighLine controller series

Question:
For the 9300Ex servo controller series, 'homing has been successful' is only indicated when homing has been fully completed and the drive has come to standstill. The REF-OK status remains active even when homing is deselected. Can a corresponding signal be simulated on the 9400 HighLine series?

Answer:
The 9400 HighLine controller series does not provide a directly corresponding signal as system variable:
  • The system variable HM_bHomePosAvailable remains active after deselecting homing via HM_bEnable = FALSE, but already changes to TRUE when the event triggering homing (e.g. touch probe sensor) has occurred. If a homing offset is traversed subsequently, this variable already indicates a TRUE level although the drive has not yet completed homing.
  • The system variable HM_bDone only changes to TRUE when homing has been fully completed. However, the system variable is also reset to FALSE when homing is deselected via HM_bEnable = FALSE.

As a remedy you can use an FB interconnection which delays the status signal HM_bHomePosAvailable until homing has been completed (HM_bDone = FALSE=>TRUE). A corresponding example interconnection is described below.
