Regenerative braking during operation without brake resistor - 8400 StateLine / HighLine

During regenerative braking, the load energy is fed into the DC bus and leads to a DC-bus voltage rise. When the DC-bus voltage reaches the overvoltage threshold, the device switches off with overvoltage (OU).

8400StateLine and HighLine are equipped with two functions to limit the DC-bus voltage rise. Switch-off with overvoltage is avoided, respectively, only occurs in case of a much higher brake energy which leads to a smoother braking. A status change of the DriveReady signal is avoided.
As a result of both functions, the actual braking time is longer than the parameterised deceleration ramp (e. g. C0013).

1. Limitation of the maximum regenerative current using code C0023.

-> Excellently suited for operating modes SLVC and SC (only for HighLine).

2. Stopping the ramp function generator depending on the DC-bus voltage value.

-> Good results in all operating modes. This is why this function is recommended for operation in V/f.

When using the operating modes SLVC or SC (only for HighLine), both functions can be activated at the same time, if necessary.

The attached document describes how to set the functions.
