Open GDC-files via network

Question:

What can be the reason that via a network (LAN) no GDC files can be opened with the Global Drive Software?

Answer:

When a GDC-file is opened via a network the attribute 'Archive' is to be selected, otherwise the file cannot be seen via a network.
