Parallel operation of breaking units 9350, maximum number of devices

Question:
How many breaking units can be operated at the same time in parallel at a DC-bus? What has to be taken into account?

Answer:
The maximum number of breaking units 9350 (breaking chopper 9352, breaking module 9351), which can be synchronised, depends on several variable conditions (DC-bus-capacity of drive, connection of breaking resistors, cable length, …). Therefore, regarding this topic in the documentation no fixed value is given.

So far experience has been gained with up to 8 breaking units. It has to be taken into account, that with an increasing number of breaking units the duration of breaking operation decreases at the downstream breaking units. Due to the synchronisation of the breaking units they are switched on one after the other (see 20030638).
