The motors, which are connected in parallel at the output of the frequency inverter, are recognised as one sum- motor by the drive. When planning and parameterising a group drive there has to be differed between V/f-characteristic (C0006 = 5) and vector control (C0006 = 1).
Group drive in vector control:
Only identical motors can be used. These motors have to be coupled friction-locked!
Input of motor parameter:
1. Rated power C0081 = Sum of single rated powers
2. Rated current C0088 = Sum of single rated currents
3. Maximum current C0022/C0023 = max. 1.5 … 2 times the value in C0088
4. The remaining motor data (V, f, cos phi) are to be taken directly from the name plate like for a single drive.
After inserting the motor date the identification run (C0148 = 1) has to be performed.
Group drive in V/f-characteristic:
Identical motors as well as different motors can be used. No friction-locked coupling is necessary. But the motors need to have identical rated voltage and identical rated frequency. These values are to be inserted as for a single drive.
The parameterisation of rated power C0081, rated current C0088 and maximum current C0022/C0023 has to be performed like in vector control.
In V/f-characteristic a conclusive input of the remaining motor data is not necessary. Therefore, also different motors can be connected in parallel.
The identification run is not necessary. In case of different motors it should not be performed.
In general:
The use of temperature sensors for all motors is recommended, in order to prevent the damage of the remaining motors by over-current in case of failure of one motor.
