Configuration of the master frequency interface X8

Question:

How is the master frequency interface X8 configured?

Answer:

The compact servo makes it possible to select different feedback systems for the position and speed control. For both control loops an encoder and a resolver feedback system can be selected. This is effected via code digit C0490 (position controller) and C0495 (speed controller).

Following configurations (* = Lenze default setting range) can be selected:
  • C0490 / C0495 = 0 (*) resolver position / speed control
  • C0490 / C0495 = 1 TTL encoder for position / speed control
  • C0490 / C0495 = 2 SinCos encoders for position / speed control
  • C0490 / C0495 = 3 absolute value encoders single-turn for position / speed control
  • C0490 / C0495 = 4 absolute value encoders multi-turn for position / speed control

An encoder is connected to terminal X8. As this terminal can also work as master frequency output, the function of this terminal is supposed to be configured. This is effected via code digit C0491.

Following configurations (* = Lenze default setting range) can be selected:
  • C0491 = 0 (*) X8is an input
  • C0491 = 1 X8 is an output

Code digits C0419, C0490, C0491 and C0495 influence one another. There are following dependencies:
  • If an encoder is used for feedback (C0490 > 0 or C0495 > 0), X8 is switched to input (C0491 = 0).
  • If X8 is switched to output (C0491 = 1), a resolver feedback is automatically switched for both closed loops (C0490 = 0, C0495 = 0).
  • If both closed loops use an encoder for feedback, the last modified code digit (C0490 / C0495 / C0419) determines the encoder type in all code digits. C0419 is switched to Common, if the setting under C0490 and C0495 does not correspond to C0419.

With the selection of the speed feedback system it is also fixed via which terminal the motor temperature is measured:
  • C0495 = 0: Motor temperature measurement via resolver plug X7
  • C0495 > 0: Motor temperature measurement via encoder plug X8
