When exporting new machinery and installations or machinery and installations that have been subject to substantial changes to Russia, the basic legislation enacted by the Russian Government must be observed. This includes
• the legislation for the mandatory certification of goods and services and
• the Russian Consumer Protection Act
According to the above legislation, the import of machinery into Russia in general requires a GOST-R certificate. The Russian Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (GOSSTANDART) is the executing body of this legislation.
As a prerequisite for exporting new machinery and installations or machinery and installations that have been subject to substantial changes to Russia, the application of the GOST-R certificate usually requires compliance with the applicable EU directives for CE certification. Institutions such as the TÜV (German Technical Inspection Association) will help you to obtain the GOST certificate.
