i550: HTL encoder configuration

Question:
As of i550 firmware V05.03 there is a new parameter setting for the HTL encoder.

- 0x2630:002 (P410.02) = Digital input settings: Input function

What must be observed?

Answer:

A distinction is now made between two cases:

  1. HTL Encoder >= 512 incr. [1]: This corresponds to the previous setting HTL Encoder. This only means that a higher resolution is used here for the evaluation of the encoder signal (4-fold evaluation). It has nothing to do with the actual encoder resolution.

  2. HTL Encoder < 128 incr [4]: This is a new setting for the evaluation of the encoder signal. This is a single evaluation and is recommended for encoders with a lower resolution.
Sporadically, when using the i550 with firmware V05.02 and an encoder with 128 increments per revolution, it was determined that the actual speed is higher than the set speed.
In this case an update to FW05.03 should be carried out and the new setting 0x2630:002 = HTL Encoder < 128 incr [4] selected.
Exception: The actual speed is not evaluated in the case of positioning via a Lenze controller. Here, however, this setting led to a slow drift of the position at standstill. Therefore the setting (0x2630:002 = HTL Encoder >= 512 incr. [1]) should also be selected here for an encoder with 128 increments.
