Start of the SCS-area of the PDSS-function

Question:
Why does the SCS-area of the PDSS-function already start shortly before the parameterized SCS limit position (C15372 / C15373)?

Answer:
When the safe creeping speed (SCS) is used, the PDSS monitoring curve is calculated in such a way that the foot point is at the parameterized SCS-limit-position (blue line). However, as soon as the PDSS monitoring curve falls below the SCS-limit speed, the SCS monitoring is immediately activated (red line). This causes the SCS-area to start shortly before the parameterized SCS-limit-position.

The position where the SCS monitoring actually starts is thus dependent on the parameterized deceleration and the SCS-limit speed.

The offset can be calculated with the Excel sheet in AKB article 201700223. For the SCS monitoring to begin at the expected position, the offset must be subtracted from the intended position value (lower SCS-limit-position) or added up (upper SCS-limit-position).
