Update of transmitted CAN data for sync-controlled transmit PDOs

Which products are affected?
8400 StateLine / HighLine with firmware version 05.01 or higher

What happens?
Sporadically, inconsistent data contents are written to the data of the sync-controlled transmit PDOs.

When does the problem occur?
If the transmission of a CAN transmit PDO is to be sync-triggered and the sync telegram is received every 1 ms.
The problem behaviour depends on different basic parameters:
Bus load, synchronicity between sync transmitter and sync receiver, transmission cycle time of the other transmit PDOs.

Possible diagnostics?
None

Short-term measures / recommendations?

• Transmit sync every 2 ms
• Adapt transmit PDOs to time-controlled behaviour
• Synchronise sync transmitter and sync receiver and set a phase position which ensures that the problem does not occur anymore (complex due to measurability), normally phase position = 500 µs.

Evaluation:
Depending on the type of data, the system may be troubled due to non-up-to-date process data.
