CANopen communication with an SMVector frequency inverter

Question:
Is it possible to operate an SMV frequency inverter via a communication module on a CANopen fieldbus system?

Answer:
The SMV frequency inverter can be equipped with a CANopen communication module of type ESVZAC. This allows the user to operate the SMV device on a CANopen fieldbus. The communication module transfers CAN objects based on the CANopen communication profile (CiA DS 301, version 4.02).
An internal voltage supply via the SMV basic device is only available when the mains voltage is switched on. It is not possible to connect an external +24 V DC voltage supply. The module is not equipped with an integrated terminating resistor (120 Ohm). If required, a terminating resistor must be externally connected between CAN High and CAN Low. The incoming bus cable is directly connected with the outgoing bus cable at the connection plug so that a physical bus transmission is also possible when the SMV is switched off.

CANopen information:
• Node address and baud rate can only be set via parameters.
• In the default setting, the SMV with the CANopen communication module provides an address range of 1-127 with one parameter data channel (1 SDO => P413 = value 2). If required, the controller can be switched over to an address range of 1-63 nodes and the use of  2 parameter channels (2 SDO => P413 = value 0 (Lenze system bus)).
• Node Guarding and Heartbeat Producer function are supported.
• Setpoint processing via the CAN bus is parameterised in parameter P121 (or 122/123) with the value 9 (Network enable). This code cannot be parameterised via the CAN bus, it must be selected manually via the local keypad.
• Calculation of the index (Lenze parameter) for reading / writing parameters: Index = 0x2000 + Lenze parameter.
(Important: Difference to 8400/9400; Index = 24575 - Lenze code)
