Profibus-DP communication with an SMVector frequency inverter

Question:
Is it possible to operate an SMV frequency inverter on the Profibus-DP via a communication module?

Answer:
The SMV frequency inverter can be equipped with a Profibus-DP communication module of type ESVZAP. This allows the user to operate the SMV frequency inverter on the Profibus-DP. The communication module supports the Profibus DP-V0 service.
It is not possible to connect an external +24 V DC voltage supply.
The module is equipped with a terminating resistor which can be switched off and on via a slide switch, if necessary (Lenze setting = ON). If the resistor is switched on, the incoming bus cable will be physically separated from the outgoing bus cable.
If the SMV is not supplied with voltage and the resistor is switched off, the incoming bus cable will be fed through to the outgoing bus cable.

The delivery package of the communication module contains a data CD with the Operating Instructions (in English) and the required device description file (GSD) for the Profibus master. The GSD file is also available in the download area on the Lenze homepage.
