Hiperface absolute value encoder, initialisation extended for encoder types SKx36, SRx50V2, SFx60, SEK52, DME5000 (as of OPERATING SYSTEM V8.3)

Function extension:
Adaptation or extension of the initialisation phase for certain types of Sick-Stegmann Hiperface absolute value encoder with non-standard timing behaviour, e.g.:
  • Hiperface absolute value encoder SKM36, SKS36
  • Hiperface absolute value encoder SRM50V2, SRS50V2
  • Hiperface absolute value encoder SFM60,  SFS60
  • Hiperface absolute value encoder SEK52
  • DME5000 remote laser measuring system

During initialisation, the timing behaviour of the above types of encoder differs from (is longer than) that of existing Hiperface encoders. This results in problems when attempting to run these encoders with earlier software versions.
The operation of the above Sick-Stegmann encoder types on the ECS with OPERATING SYSTEM V8.3 has been verified.

In the event of errors during initialisation of the Hiperface absolute value encoder (SD7), some diagnostics information about codes C0301 and C0302 is now displayed:
  • Internal error message C0301 =   80  (0050 hex):   Encoder error
  • Internal error message C0302 = 165  (00A5 hex):  No communication with the encoder over the Hiperface interface.
  • The error codes output by the encoder are output under C0302 (see the data sheets for the individual encoders). Up to 4 error codes (BYTE) are specified. The decimal value displayed should be converted to hexadecimal format if necessary.
