Error message when editing externally

Which products are affected?
ESP-HMI1-P (HMI Designer V1.7)

What happens?
With the HMI Designer V1.7 variables can be exported, edited by means of an external software (e.g. notepad) and imported again afterwards. When pressing the <External Editor> button (project component 'Variables') this is executed in one step. The external software is opened out of the HMI Designer and the variable definition is loaded. The variable definitions are re-imported when the external software is closed.

The following error message is indicated when the <External Editor> button is pressed or when variables are exported:
ActiveX component can't create object

When does the problem occur?
The error message described above occurs when an update of the HMI Designer from V1.6 to V1.7 instead of the full version HMI Designer V1.7 has been installed.

Possible diagnostics?
None.

Short-term measures/recommendations?
None.

Evaluation:
Editing variables by means of an external software makes it much easier to work with the HMI Designer. The function restriction is eliminated when the full version of the HMI Designer is installed.
