Which products are affected?
9300ES servo controller V8.0
(9300EP position controller as of V8.0), planned for 4th quarter 2008
9300EK CAM profiler as of V8.1
9300 vector inverter (0.37..90kW) V8.1
Application:
Applications with motors without KTY temperature sensor in case of which the motor temperature monitoring functions OH3 and OH7 are to be switched off. In addition, applications in case of which the drive is not to be inhibited immediately when the OH3 monitoring is activated (e.g. when glass is produced). If the system was stopped abruptly, any consequential damages caused by material hardening inside the machine would be much worse than possible motor damages.
Description:
9300ES, EP, EK <= V6.x:
The OH3/OH7 motor temperature monitoring functions
cannot be set to stop the machine in a controlled way. When the OH3 monitoring (OH3 = OFF) is deactivated, all motor temperature monitoring functions, the SD6 temperature monitoring and the motor temperature display (C0063) are switched off, irrespective of the OH7 fault response setting under C0584.
9300ES, EP, EK V7.x:
An extended functionality of the motor temperature monitoring is implemented so that the machine can be stopped in a controlled way if an OH7 warning has appeared (see AKB article Doc ID: 200701759).
The OH3 and OH7 monitoring functions can be activated irrespective of each other.
Both monitoring functions must be set to 'OFF' separately in order to deactivate both monitoring functions and the motor temperature display. Therefore it can happen that an OH7 message occurs unintentionally if an older GDC parameter file (*.gdc) generated under / with a firmware version lower than V6.x is loaded and the following conditions are complied with:
- In order to deactivate the motor temperature monitoring functions OH3 / OH7 only the OH3 fault response has been switched off (C0583 = -3-) AND
- The default setting for the selection of the OH7 fault response has not been changed, i.e. is set to 'Warning' (C0584 = -2) AND
- There is no temperature sensor connected, e.g. in case of operation with a standard motor
9300ES, EP as of V8.0, 9300EK as of V8.1:
When the OH3 monitoring (OH3 = OFF) is deactivated, both motor temperature monitoring functions are deactivated again, the SD6 thermal sensor monitoring and the motor temperature display, independent of the setting of the OH7 fault response, as was the case with V6.x. The OH3 fault response can also be set to 'Warning' as an extension for V6.x so that a controlled shutdown will continue to be executed.
The undesired activation of the OH7 warning, as in case of the firmware V7.x does now not occur anymore.
Vector 9300EV <= V7.3:
The OH3/OH7 motor temperature monitoring functions
cannot be set to stop the machine in a controlled way. When the SD6 temperature sensor monitoring (SD6 = OFF) is deactivated, all motor temperature monitoring functions (OH3, OH7) and the motor temperature display (C0063) are switched off, irrespective of the OH3/OH7 fault response setting under C0584.
Vector 9300EV as of V8.1:
In addition to 'TRIP' the OH3 fault response can now also be set to 'Warning'. As a result, a controlled stopping is enabled.
