Application
A system has been erected and commissioned with components equipped with an older firmware version. One or several drive controllers are to be exchanged in this running system. The new drive controller supplied is equipped with the latest firmware version available.
Caution:
It must always be adhered to all safety regulations and valid standards when the device firmware is to be exchanged or updated. System specific circumstances are to be observed. Especially the safety equipment (e. g. brakes) must not be deactivated. The operator is responsible for the operation of the machine. The replacement is only allowed to be executed by a qualified electrician.
Note:
Axis modules equipped with a firmware version ≥ 2.0 can only be managed and operated by means of an Engineer version as of 1.5. Therefore, the Engineer needs to be updated to this version before.
Description
a) Stop the system and switch it off.
b) Withdraw the plug-in connector of the control signals and extension module from the device and remove all modules from the device.
c) Detach the old basic device and install the new one. (Devices in the design 1-3 must only be removed from the backplane).
d) Insert all modules into the new device and reconnect all plug-in connectors of the control signals and extension modules.
e) Switch on the system. The controller must remain inhibited.
f) Reset the message 'Parameter set restored' at the new drive controller and save the parameter set [C02 = 11].
g) Every updated axis module is to be check for correct functioning inside the machine.
h) Start of the test for correct functioning of the complete system by the operator.
